It's been a month since the 49th Utah Asian Festival! It was more than an event, it was a celebration of who we are as a community, a testament to nearly 50 years of showing up for one another, and honestly, one of the most joyful days we've had in a long time.
Over 19,000 people filled the Utah State Fairpark with energy, laughter, and pride. From every corner of Utah, families, friends, and neighbors came together to celebrate Asian culture and heritage.
The scale of the day was something else. Here are a few stats that still have us shaking our heads in the best possible way:
- $250,000+ in food sales across 30+ vendors in a single day
- 1,500 salt breads sold by one of our first-time vendors Kyookie
- Over 20,000 egg rolls sold by Janis Filipino Cuisine
- 19,000+ phones counted coming through the gates
These numbers represent thousands of moments of a family trying a dish for the first time, kids running between booths, old friends reconnecting, and new friendships being made.
We put together a short video to express what words alone can't fully capture. If you haven't seen it yet, please take a moment to watch:
As we said in the video: you didn't simply support an event. You invested in community. You invested in connection. You invested in the idea that Utah is stronger when we come together.
The Utah Asian Festival has always been an extension of the Asian Association of Utah's core belief that when we celebrate together, we grow stronger together. Since 1977, AAU has been welcoming refugees, supporting survivors of human trafficking, and helping families build opportunities for future generations. The festival is a living expression of that mission.
None of what you saw on June 6th would have been possible without our incredible sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and community members. Thank you.
Here's the thing about this year's festival: it was also a launchpad. Next year, the Utah Asian Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary, a milestone very few community events ever reach. The first 50 years were built by people who believed in this mission.
We hope you'll join us as we begin the next 50 together. If you're interested in sponsoring the 50th Annual Utah Asian Festival, please visit UtahAsianFestival.org
