Apply for Food Booth

Overall Booth Disclaimer:

While the Utah Asian Festival is open to all, our mission is to highlight the vibrant cultures, foods, resources, and organizations which represent our local Asian American communities. Food Vendors are based on a first-come, first-serve basis depending on the capacity of the UAF and the needs of the Asian American and overall community. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance as a food booth/vendor. UAF planning committee reserves the right for final food vendor decisions, placements, acceptances, rejections, waitlists, sizing, and related materials. Food vendor placements and sizes will be determined based on registration and submission completion date, UAF needs and priorities, and are subject to change by the planning committee.

Food Booth Disclaimer:

Food vendors (booths and trucks) are requested to submit their menu for approval to help prevent duplicate menu items from being sold at the festival. Food booths will be approved on a first come, first serve basis (first to apply, pay deposit, et al.). Any additional applications with menu items too similar to previously approved food booths will either be asked to change their menu items or apply next year. A representative must attend one Utah Asian Festival orientation meeting to ensure an understanding of policies and procedures. Selling of alcohol and Coca-Cola products is not allowed, but Pepsi products, Pepsi-brand bottled water, and all Asian drinks are permissible. Kirkland and non-Pepsi branded water bottles are prohibited. Setup for food booths will be outdoors and done by tent zone/area at the Utah State Fairpark and will begin on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 2:00pm. The food booth committee will contact food vendors for their specific set-up time on Friday, June 7. You will receive an email confirmation and next steps if your application is moving to the next round.

    Food Booth Applicants:
At least one person with a Food Handler’s Permit must be inside the Food Booth at all times. The Department of Health will close down any booths that do not have the appropriate permits and/or are not in compliance. Please make sure you fully understand and observe their policies prior to the Festival day. A representative must attend one Utah Asian Festival orientation meeting to ensure understanding of policies and to present the food menu. Any suspicion that any policies are not adhered to will result in the unfortunate closing of your booth.

    Operating Hours:
All booths must be set up and be ready for inspection and operation by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the event and must not be unattended from the hours of 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Set-up will begin on Friday, June 7, 2023 at 1:00pm; on Saturday June 8, 2023 at 7:00am.

    Fire & Health Safety:
All items brought into the Utah State Fairpark, must be fireproof or have been treated with fire retardant. All Food Booths must be equipped with a fire extinguisher and hot and cold food thermometers. The local Fire Marshall, Health Department, City Building Inspector, or their agents will inspect any booths and exhibits. Any items that do not comply with the health and safety standards will be seized and removed immediately.

    Display:
All displays must not extend more than two inches beyond the perimeter of the table. Please keep aisles clear as dictated by fire safety standards.

    Use of Tables and Chairs:
All tables and chairs must remain inside of the designated booth area. Chairs and tables specifically provided for the use of dining areas, entertainment areas, or other booths must not be moved into your booth. You may request additional tables and chairs from us with advanced notice or supply your own. Please have your personal tables and chairs clearly labeled to prevent any risk of loss.
